The 15th Games of Jiangxi: Ceramic-inspired Sports Posters

Combining Traditional Culture with Modern Design

As the 15th Games of Jiangxi approaches, designers Qin He and Xinqing Li have created a series of sports theme posters that beautifully blend ceramic culture with athletic elements. This unique approach showcases the rich heritage of Jingdezhen, the capital of porcelain, while promoting the urban culture of Jiangxi.

The core of this design project was to study the integration of ceramic culture and sports elements to create a visually striking series of posters. Living in Jingdezhen for many years, Qin He and Xinqing Li have developed a deep understanding and appreciation for ceramic art. By combining their passion for modern design and traditional Chinese culture, they have produced a collection of posters that capture the essence of the Games of Jiangxi.

What sets these posters apart is the innovative use of ceramics to replace traditional sports items. The designers have seamlessly merged ceramic and sports materials through photography and Photoshop software, resulting in a visually captivating fusion. The posters evoke a sense of harmony between the elegance of ceramic art and the dynamism of sports, creating a unique visual experience.

The posters, measuring 700mm x 1000mm, are intended for outdoor advertisements, ensuring maximum visibility and impact. Each poster tells a story, showcasing the beauty and versatility of ceramics in the context of sports. The designers have successfully overcome the challenge of finding appropriate ceramic materials that convey the artistic conception of movement, resulting in a series of posters that truly captivate the viewer.

Qin He, Xinqing Li, and their team members, including Chao Yang, Zhonghao Wu, and Luxiang Li, worked tirelessly on this project, which began in April 2018 and concluded in May 2018 in Jingdezhen. Their dedication and creativity have earned them recognition, including the Bronze A' Design Award in the Advertising, Marketing, and Communication Design category in 2021. This prestigious award honors designs that exemplify resourcefulness, technical skill, and creativity, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

The ceramic-inspired sports posters for the 15th Games of Jiangxi not only celebrate the fusion of traditional culture and modern design but also serve as a testament to the creativity and innovation of Qin He, Xinqing Li, and their team. By promoting the urban culture of Jiangxi through these visually stunning posters, they have created a lasting legacy for the Games and the city of Jingdezhen.
